The *Real* Purpose of the Mainstream Media
Some people think the purpose of the “news”, AKA the mainstream media (MSM) is to inform. Others believe the media companies are simply in it for the money. These views are partially right but the real purpose of the MSM is and has always been to control public opinion.

A Challenge
I can’t convince you in a few paragraphs of something as complex as the purpose of the MSM. So a challenge: give alternative media a real chance. After some days of reading/watching alternative media I challenge you to not come to the same conclusion that many others have: the MSM does not deserve our trust, our time or our money.
Recommendations of counter-MSM sources below. I prefer to call alternative media counter-MSM because I feel they are a counterpoint to the MSM: almost the exact opposite. An example:
At least 900,000 Ukrainian soldiers have died in a completely unnecessary war, it's 100% about money. Top officials of the US government and NATO don't care anymore about Ukrainians than they do about Russians!
The MSM will never tell you the truth behind this war. Like the fact the Ukrainian military was shelling Russian civilians in Ukraine before the war, that Zelenskyy was installed by the US and has been blocking elections in the Ukraine, that NATO promised Russia it would not expand eastward like it has been, that Blackrock has been using the war to buy Ukrainian farmland on the cheap, etc., etc.
The media has tremendous reach and their influence over the public plays a huge role in shaping our world. War is the most stark example, only a small minority benefits from war and the vast majority are against it. So why are there so many wars? Because the elites control of the narrative through the mainstream media, shaping public public opinion. Thanks to their control of the media, they own you and me. It doesn't even matter that we understand the problem because too many people do not, or are unwilling to stand up for what’s right.
Big tech has joined the MSM in having a huge influence over the public. Big tech, Google, YouTube, Twitter (X, whatever), Facebook (Meta, whatever), etc., have done a lot to suppress opinions that do not follow the elites desired narratives. They are just as bad as the MSM and that is no surprise as like the MSM, big tech is (really) owned by the elites.
Below are some examples of counter-MSM (in no particular order). They are not perfect but they blow away the corrupt MSM. All use evidence to support their stories, unlike the MSM’s frequent unnamed sources (aka made-up-bull-shit).

Spend some time with these and other alternative/counter media and you will realize it is the mainstream media that is the largest source of misinformation and disinformation in the world.
Some examples of MSM to avoid: NY Times, LA Times, MSNBC, ABC/CNN/NBC/CBS news, PBS, Time and Newsweek magazines, probably many more. George Soros, scumbag extraordinaire, is in the process of buying hundreds of radio stations in the US which he will use to spread much propaganda.
This is perhaps the most unintentionally funny articles online about the Deep State: propaganda rag NY Times claiming the Deep State is just your average government employee, in the example an inspector at the FDA. There is no way the author is really so stupid to believe what he wrote, he just assumes NYT readers are. Anyone with a NYT subscription is literally paying to be lied to.
The mainstream media as it is today is massively harmful, the enemy of all living things
Imagine if we had honesty in reporting: we could end war, poverty, injustice, and inequality while greatly reducing crime, hate, environmental destruction and even cancer and dementia. Starve the MSM of your attention and especially of your dollars. Convince everyone you know to do the same, and to convince everyone they know. If we actually had an honest MSM the entire world would be a vastly different place.
